Who We Are
About Us
Zingce (Take Pride) Foundation was established in 2015,based on the need to create a better life for young people that live in townships and rural areas whereby gender based violence, poverty, drugs, educational challenges remain an on going struggle. The organisation was formed to bring transformation ,instill hope and drive social change.
Zingce Foundation came into existence after many visits to the township of Katlehong and Tembisa for motivational sessions to keep the youth off the streets encouraging them to focus on getting educated so that they could escape poverty and acquire financial freedom through employment or entrepreneurship . The main objective was to ensure that there was a reduction in the high rate of teenage pregnancy , crime , Hiv infection rate as well as high unemployment stats in the townships located in the City of Ekurhuleni. Townships have a high rate of young people that are addicted to drugs . In addition to such our team noted that there are limited activities for the youth to engage in. It was for this reason that Zingce Foundation came to existence.
However it was also evident that in other townships and rural areas located in varied provinces such as the Eastern Cape , Kwa – Zulu Natal and Western Cape, there is also a common trend regarding challenges. Under the umbrella of Zingce Foundation a few charities across South Africa have been identified which the organisation works hand in hand with on varied projects . The organisation has 60 girls and boys whom are the main beneficiaries between ages 12 – 28 years. Recently our team has adopted boy children as there is a greater need regarding assistance.
Mission
To ensure that youth in the township and rural areas are given opportunities that are equal to those of young people that come from privilege backgrounds; creating opportunities and exposure . To be the catalyst of change activation through community and stakeholder involvement.
To be the voice of a generation with big dreams but limited resources.
To be the link of urban area projects that will be transferred back to the communities in need, especially townships through engagements. Such is achieved through empowerment sessions ,awareness activations and camps. Long term strategy – Facilitate learnerships promoting skills transfer . Further investing in building emerging entrepreneurs in the township, addressing the issue of unemployment and creating a platform of exposure for young people.
To ensure that all young people under the organisation’s guidance are given the opportunity to be educated .Further igniting skills that exist in them therefore promoting self dependency.
To nurture as well as mentor the youth to have influence in their communities and in return add value to the next person.Through the foundation we assist beneficiaries to step out of their shell and explore possibilities available to them through leadership seminars , entrepreneurship education , business etiquette sessions and promoting self love .
Vision
To invest in building stronger characters that will contribute positively to communities and the country at large – Patriotic youth.
To build strong networks with other stakeholders to create a business hub and leaders network for the beneficiaries in the Long run.
To promote skills exchange that will ultimately benefit SA . To witness the reduction of high unemployment rate, substance abuse, pregnancy and Hiv/Aids. Moulding an informed and educated generation. A youth that is solution driven.
To initiate projects that will add value to the communities eg. Soccer / Netball tournaments, Drum majorette events, tutoring sessions, campaigns and upliftment initiatives ect. With Mentorship from organisation / schools that are excelling in those sectors – Nation Building.
To teach our beneficiaries financial literacy so that they can have a sustainable source of income assisting with liberating them financially at a younger age. We also want to invest in a debt free nation.
VISION : THE PLAN – ZINGCE FOUNDATION BUSINESS HUB : BRINGING LIFE TO THE TOWNSHIP
When our team has to engage with the main beneficiaries, we book Community halls or a school or even local church to conduct sessions.
In the long run the main objective is for Zingce Foundation To have its own space to be able to conduct the activities for the Beneficiaries. Majority of the beneficiaries live in that area. For instance, the plan is to run a beading, make up, sewing skills Programme was funding is sourced. The challenge is linked on securing an area of operation.
The bigger vision is for Zingce Foundation to get phase B accreditation from CATHSETA so that the organisation issues out learnership for beneficiaries within their fields of interest. The plan is to be in a position to give stipends. Such would mean that through the foundation, certificates can be awarded once beneficiaries have completed their development training. This is to create responsibility and accountability within the programme. We have already identified two people that can give Make–Up, massage Tutorials. There is a skilled personnel that can give beading, craft skills. Our youth loves dance and there is an individual in the area to offer that skill. Regarding photography there is an individual we have also identified in the township of Katlehong.
